Attacks by bandits have been repelled by operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command.

The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu, while fielding questions from DAILY POST in a telephone interview.

SP Shehu explained that the attack was foiled, saying that nobody was kidnapped and nobody was injured from both the security agencies and the bandits’ sides.

He further stated that the bandits have been taken advantage of the deep forest along Zamfara and Sokoto border to unleash terror on commuters.

Recall that some months ago, the terrorists abducted about 50 guests returning from a wedding ceremony of their colleagues in Sokoto State, on the same axis.

The command however appealed to the general public to always assist the police with vital information that can lead to the arrest of criminal elements.
