Two out of the three guests at a wedding ceremony at Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state have been released by kidnappers.

Their release is coming two weeks after they were declared missing by their families.

The victims are Collins Alaefula, Mmadu Promise and Victor Chibuike.

It’s gathered that the two victims were released by their captives after ransoms were reportedly paid.

Brother to one of the victims, Fortune, said that his sibling, Promise and one other were released on Friday night by their abductors.

An elated Fortune told PUNCH that ” Yes, my brother and one other have been released. They were released on Friday night. It was actually a case of kidnap not missing persons. I don’t know the name of the other person who was released alongside my brother. I have not seen them but I am on my way to see them.”

The victims who rode in a Lexus 330 gray coloured vehicle were declared missing on August 28 after they left a wedding ceremony in Isiala Mbano LGA to Owerri, their base.

After their whereabouts were not ascertained, their families declared them missing and reportedly reported the situation at the Police station in Owerri.

Their kidnappers were said to had contacted their families few days after and demanded an undisclosed amount of money as the condition for their release.

It’s not immediately clear why the third person was not freed.

The police spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, had yet to respond to inquiries concerning the development as of the time of filing this report.
