Remains of Queen Elizabeth II’s body leaves Balmoral, begins 9-day farewell journey to Windsor

The late Queen Elizabeth II’s body departed Balmoral on Sunday, beginning a nine-day farewell journey to Windsor, where she will be laid to rest.

At ten in the morning, Her Majesty’s body left the Scottish castle. Then arrived in Edinburgh’s Palace of Holyroodhouse at local time and was slowly transported there.

Silently gazing as the hearse passed, onlookers lined the streets of the Scottish town.

On Sunday, the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, paid her last respect to the Queen of England via a tweet, it read:

“A sad and poignant moment as Her Majesty, The Queen leaves her beloved Balmoral for the final time,”

“Today, as she makes her journey to Edinburgh, Scotland will pay tribute to an extraordinary woman.”

The throng of thousands applauded as the Queen’s casket arrived in Dundee, according to Sky News.

Princess Anne, the daughter of the Queen, will fly with her mother’s remains to London on Tuesday. She will spend her final night in Buckingham Palace after arriving in the British capital, where her casket will be kept until Wednesday.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the Queen died on 8th September.

On September 8, 2022, Buckingham Palace released a statement to the press noting that the Queen’s doctors were concerned for her health.

She remained under medical supervision until her passing at Balmoral Castle, where she spent the last days of her life.
