One Ziyanu Abdulrazak has been remanded for sodomising a seven-year-old boy in Kaduna state.
A magistrates’ court in the Kafanchan area of the state ordered the detention of the 37-year-old man.
The Magistrate, Michael Bawa rejected the plea of Abdulrazak for want of jurisdiction.
He subsequently directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned to November 1.
Earlier, counsel to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Marcus Audu, told the court that the boy’s mother reported the matter to the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre which forwarded it to the corps’ office in Kafanchan on October 1.
He said Abdulrazak, who resides on Sokoto Street, lured the boy to a bush and sodomised him.
