Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State and the director general of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has stated that the party would not take any chances even though it was confident it would win due to its track record of accomplishments and growing support nationwide.

Lalong announced this on Friday in Abuja, at the PCC’s inauguration and the presentation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, manifesto.

He emphasized that Tinubu and the party had created a thorough Action Plan that outlined exactly how he intended to lead Nigeria to greater heights and improve the lives of the populace.

The Director-General noted that they are in the season of politics where their opponents are desperate to confuse the electorate and bring the ruling party down.

His words: “Our campaigns will therefore be issue-based and devoid of propaganda or falsehood. We shall tell the electorate what our party has done and also remind them of the enviable records set by our Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima during their previous assignments. They have demonstrated the capacity, experience, composure, exposure and acceptance to take Nigeria to greater heights from May 29th 2023.

“While others spend their valuable time addressing personalities and other frivolities, let us stay with the mission and vision of our candidate and the party, as encapsulated in the Action Plan. This singular focus will enable us deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.”

Lalong also called on all party faithful to be committed to this mandate and remain focused on the goal of ensuring that APC retains power at the federal and State levels.

This, he said, would require a lot of sacrifices by members, while urging them to put aside personal or sectional interests and focus on the goal, which is to win the elections with an unprecedented wide margin in the history of elections in Nigeria.

The Director-General said the PCC was aware that the composition of the leadership and membership of the various Committees might not have satisfied the yearnings of everyone, however, it was important to emphasise that everything possible had been done to come up with a list that captures virtually every interest.

On his part, the National Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdullahi said all opposition to the party in the forthcoming 2023 polls would be crushed by the ruling party

He said, “With the formal inauguration of the PCC, the party was set to crush all opposition on the way to its victory during the election next year.”
