Mallam Adamu Adamu, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, admitted he failed in his official duties because he was unable to deal with several challenges that severely impacted the educational system in recent years.
Adamu, speaking at the 66th National Council on Education (NCE) in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja on Thursday, reflected on the challenges he faced as Education Minister, having held the position for the longest time.
The Minister stated that he could not provide viable solutions to issues ranging from out-of-school children, which has increased during his tenure, to challenges posed by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other challenges confronting the tertiary education system.
Adamu, on the other hand, accused the state’s education ministries of contributing to his failure as a Minister.
