Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, met with miners and Agro-processing stakeholders to unveil his mining action plan.
WITHIN NIGERIA, the APC Presidential candidate met with miners and agro-processors on Thursday at the Late Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in Government House, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Tinubu promised relevant stakeholders at the event that his administration would invest in solid minerals and agro-processing sectors to boost the country’s economic growth.
If elected President in 2023, he said he would use public-private partnership initiatives to boost the growth of sectors for the benefit of Nigerians.
According to the former Governor of Lagos State, the country has an abundance of commercially viable solid mineral deposits, including coal, limestone, iron ore, bitumen, lead, zinc, gold, and various gemstones.
Nasarawa has deposits of Gold, Barite, Coal, Clay, Lead-Zinc, Sault, Gemstone, Silica Sand, Iron Ore, Granite, Tantalite, Marble, Mica, Cassiterite, Limestone, and Aquamarine and is a major mining hub for many solid minerals in Nigeria.

The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, attended the event, as did the party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong, and the host Governor, Abdullahi Sule.
Other APC leaders in attendance included House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, Kastina Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Borno Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum, and former House of Representatives Speaker Dimeji Bankole.
Dr. Betta Edu, the APC National Women leader, was also present, as was Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the former Governor of Nasrawa and Senator representing Nasarawa-South, and Justice Sidi Muhammad, the Emir of Lafia.
