The human rights lawsuit brought by Nnamdi Kanu against the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has been dropped.

According to Naija News, Kanu filed a N20 billion human rights lawsuit against the Federal Government, with the case number FHC/ABJ/CS/1702/222, through his special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor.

The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Director-General, Ahmed Abubakar, and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, (SAN), were named as the first and second defendants in the suit, which was dated and filed on September 23.

Kanu’s arrest in Kenya was contested by Ejimakor, who also referred to Kanu’s continued detention as a human rights violation.

The Federal High Court in Abuja had set Friday, November 18, for the lawsuit’s hearing, though.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday, Ejimakor said the IPOB leader has discontinued the suit. He, however, failed to state the reason for discontinuing the case.

The UK case is awaiting decision.

The AU case is awaiting decision.

UN Opinion has been escalated to other tribunals.

The Kenyan case is set for Feb 2023 (sad), Ejimakor wrote via his Twitter handle.
