On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari oversaw the first oil drilling in Nigeria’s Northern region.
According to WITHIN NIGERIA, the groundbreaking ceremony for the oil refinery in Bauchi and Gombe states occurred today.

This occurred two years after the resources were discovered in commercial volume at the locations. Top government officials, including Minister of State for Petroleum Timipre Sylva, were present to witness the signing of the Kolmani Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 809 and 810 on Tuesday (today), November 22, 2022, at the Kolmani field site.

President Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, who also serves as the Deputy Director, of Special Media Projects/New Media, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, shared a sample of the first crude oil drilled from the site online.
