Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has described a Ghanaian politician’s joke aimed at captain Harry Maguire as “crazy.”
In recent months, 29-year-old Maguire has frequently been the target of jeers and harsh criticism.
The English defender became a topic of conversation in Ghana’s parliament after MP Issac Adongo referred to Mahamudu Bawumia as “economic Maguire.” Adongo compared Bawumia’s performance to Maguire’s recent struggles at Manchester United.
However, Rooney has now addressed the incident.
