Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been warned not to take credit for Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) projects in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the call came from Chinye Matthew, a state chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who claims that the said projects, which Okowa claims he provided for the people of the LGA, were funded by the NDDC.

We want to state that the projects governor Okowa said he provided for the people of Aniocha North were funded by NDDC.

These road projects in Aniocha North remain very important, owing to the fact that many of the dwellers in rural areas are farmers who contribute to the food baskets of the state.

Okowa should stop taking credits over projects that his administration never awarded, funded, and commissioned in Aniocha North.

Chinye also bemoaned the poor condition of the Onicha-Uku/Issele-Uku road, claiming that the two communities were cut off from each other due to poor road conditions.

However, in response to the claim, Emeka Nwobi, the member representing Aniocha North constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, told WITHIN NIGERIA that, aside from road networks funded by the NDDC, Okowa’s administration has funded numerous projects in the council area.

While urging the people of Aniocha North Local Government Council to disregard such claims as propaganda and falsehood, he said work was still going on at the Onicha-Uku Issele-Uku road project Okowa had awarded and mobilized contractors to.
