The House of Representatives has advanced a bill that would create the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Lagos State to second reading.
This came after the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Ganiyu Johnson, presented the general ideas of the measure in a plenary session.
The purpose of the bill, according to Johnson, who presented it, is to support the growth of entrepreneurial, innovative, and related skills in Nigeria.
According to him, establishing an institute of entrepreneurship is the next thing in Nigeria.
He explained that the bill would help to combat unemployment in Nigeria by training students to use their hands to create jobs for themselves.
To this end, the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, ruled in favour of the bill without debate and referred it to the relevant committee for further legislative input.
