According to reports, any suggestion of a job-sharing agreement between Roma and Portugal has been rejected.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Mendes met with federation president Fernando Soares Gomes da Silva on Thursday to discuss Jose Mourinho’s current plans.
For the time being, Roma has his attention, but he hopes the club will not get in the way of his desire to manage the national team by June 2023.
Mourinho will meet with Roma’s owners to discuss a solution, with the Portuguese expected to request a one-year extension on his contract with the club to take charge of Portugal.
When asked about the Portugal national team job on Thursday, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager refused to comment.
