The South Americans however recovered from that setback and won all their remaining games in the competition.

The South Americans also swept the individual awards at Qatar 2022.

Talismanic forward, Lionel Messi was named Best Player of the competition, Emiliano Martinez scooped the Best Goalkeeper prize, while young midfielder, Enzo Fernandes picked the Best Young Player of the competition award.
