Isa Mohammed Ashiru, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor in Kaduna State, condemned the attack in the Kaura Local Government Area on Tuesday.
Recall that on Sunday night, terrorists reportedly carried out separate attacks in the Kagoro chiefdom’s Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities, which resulted in the deaths of over 28 people.
Ashiru responded on the Kaduna PDP Facebook page, calling the killings and burning of several homes in the Kaura LGA the work of enemies and urging those with bad intentions to stop because the law’s long arm would soon catch them.
“Against the relative peace being enjoyed by most of our communities, I received the sad news of the attack in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities in Kagoro chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State,” he posted.
He averred that it is disheartening and reprehensible that such a senseless act could still be found among us.
Condemning the attack in strong terms, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the chief of Kagoro, the families of the victims of the attack and the entire people of Kaura LGA.
