Katsina: Suspected terrorist killed during shootout with police

A suspected terrorist has been killed during a shootout with police in Karfi, in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The state police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said some terrorists around 2 am on Wednesday stormed the house of a 37-year-old man, Kabir Sule, and abducted him.

Isah explained that on getting the information, the Malumfashi Divisional Police Officer led a team of policemen and vigilantes to confront the hoodlums.

The PPRO explained that there was a shootout between the security men and the terrorists, leading to the death of the suspect while other members of the gang, who reportedly sustained varying degrees of injury, fled into the forest.

He added that the team also rescued the abducted victim unhurt.
