Manchester United have reportedly introduced a new ‘Ronaldo rule’ to cap their players’ wages at Old Trafford.

According to Daily Mail, the Red Devils want to avoid a scenario of players earning significantly more than their team-mates, such as Cristiano Ronaldo during his second stint at the club.

It was gathered that a wage cap of £200,000 a week has been introduced in a bid to avoid dressing room jealousy among players.

The new development could cause some issues in contract negotiations over the next few months as the likes of David de Gea, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, and Diogo Dalot, are among those in line for new extensions.
