Alice Campello, the wife of former Real Madrid and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, had to spend some time in intensive care after giving birth to their fourth child.

After experiencing “complications,” Alvaro Morata’s wife, Alice, sought specialized treatment at Madrid’s University Hospital of Navarra.

Morata revealed his wife’s health status as he announced the birth of the couple’s first daughter Bella and shared adorable images of her sleeping in pink and white pyjamas.

He shared the good news with a photo of Alice holding their sleeping daughter Bella in a hospital bed.

The footballer wrote on Instagram:

Alice has left intensive care and is in a room doing much better and recovering with Bella.

I am still coming to terms with what happened. Thank you Alice for teaching me a lesson once again. You are without a doubt a fighter and an example for me.

These have been the worst days of my life but I’m fortunate to have you in it. You’re the best thing that has happened to me and my life without you would have no meaning.

Thank you to everyone who has been close to us and once again thank you to everyone at the University Hospital of Navarra for their delicacy and treatment.

The 30-year-old international from Spain has previously described the worrying incident on social media.

He wrote:

Bella was born on the 9th and she is wonderful. Unfortunately, after the delivery went very well, the mother started to have complications that scared us a lot.

Right now she is in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital of Navarra in Madrid where she is being cared for by the best doctors and little by little she is recovering very well… she is very strong.
