Nasarawa Varsity uses Tinubu’s ‘balablu’ blunder to illustrate exam question

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has asked Mass Communication students during an examination, to justify the social judgement theory using one popular misspeak by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Recall that last November, Tinubu, at an engagement in Imo, slurrily said “a town hall, different from “balablu-blu-blu-bulaba.”

The misspeak, which spotlighted possible dementia of the APC candidate, became a ready instrument of humour among young Nigerians online who oppose Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

“‘Using the social media trending sarcastic statement: A Townhall, Different from Bala-Blu Blu-Blu Bula-Ba’, justify social judgement theory,” question 1 of the second-semester examination for sophomore Mass Communication students of the Nasarawa State-owned university, read.

According to Per encyclopedia.com, the social judgement theory explains how attitudes are cognitively represented, the psychological processes involved in assessing persuasive communications, and the conditions under which communicated attitudes are either accepted or rejected.

The former Lagos State governor has continue to evoke public concerns about his mental fitness to govern Nigeria ahead of next month’s presidential election.

Tinubu’s critics relentlessly hoist totems of his many incoherent and slurry statements as evidence of his unsuitability for Nigeria’s top job.

However, the APC standard bearer has repeatedly dismissed criticisms about his frail health, saying being Nigerian president is not grave digging that requires his physical strength.
