The Taliban has ordered shop owners in Kabul who deal in cloths and fabrics merchandise to chop off the head or completely cover the faces of female mannequins on display

Following their takeover, the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan recently ordered boutique owners to behead or mask the face of mannequins on display.

According to the Taliban, the mannequins “violate” Islamic law.

Several grotesque images of masked and beheaded female mannequins from clothing shops in Kabul have now surfaced online.

Aziz, a shop owner, told the News Agency Associated Press that agents of the Ministry of Vice and Virtue constantly visit shops to ensure that shop owners adhere to the rule and keep female mannequins either masked or beheaded.

“Everyone knows mannequins aren’t idols, and no one’s going to worship them. In all Muslim countries, mannequins are used to display clothes,” the shop owner added.

In addition, the Taliban also ordered them not to sell clothes against the sharia law.

Decades after their rule, the Taliban retook complete control of Afghanistan in August 2021 and immediately excluded girls from secondary schools, and in December 2022, they banned ‘women’s education’.

They’ve also introduced many other laws and policies that many analysts considered archaic and ultra conservative and should have no place in a modern world.
