The assertion of a restriction on passenger vehicles from Northern states was untrue, according to the Lagos State Government.

The claim was made by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in a statement released by General Secretary Yusuf Adeniyi.

Adeniyi claimed that the union was informed that the state government had ceased operations and demanded that the decision be overturned.

Sulaimon Raji, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators, refuted the alleged restriction on Monday.

Raji, at a news conference on Monday, described the claim as obnoxious, abhorrent, appalling and disdainful propaganda.

He said being a centre of excellence and the fifth-largest economy in Africa, Lagos is an all-around ethnic accommodation of all regions.

“We despise any act or show of ethnocentrism in our dealings as we believe that for any organisation or association to thrive, it depends solely on its oneness,” he said.

Raji advised the RTEAN to desist from displaying a “colossal show of shame” over a matter already in the court and allow the judicial process to take its course.
