Shehu Sani Reacts To Wike

Former Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna Central has criticized River State Governor Nyesome Wike for cancelling the campaign venue for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that the Wike-led government had denied Atiku’s request to use the Adoki Amasiaemeka Stadium in Igwurita Ali, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

On February 11, 2023, Atiku and his campaign train will hold a rally at the venue.

The state government stated on Wednesday announcing the withdrawal of the former Vice President’s approval.

The PDP received permission to use the venue a few weeks ago, with the condition that the government access the venue 48 hours before the electioneering event.

However, in a letter dated January 31, 2023, addressed to the Director General of the Atiku campaign organization and Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Barrister Christopher Green, said intelligence revealed that the Atiku campaign organization was collaborating with Arch.

Shehu Sani, who responded to the development on Twitter, described the situation as unfortunate, emphasizing that the power limitation is only temporary.

He tweeted:

The River State revocation of the approval earlier granted for Atiku Abubakar Presidential rally in Port Harcourt is unfortunate. The limitation of power is that it’s transient.
