The management of the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has denied a social media report that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, will hold a campaign rally at the university.

The UNIPORT management, in a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Dr. Sam Kpenu, dismissed as false the report making the rounds on social media allegedly attributed to one Mr Humble lion with the phone number +234 7031061646.

The university’s administration stated that it has not authorized any political campaign rallies and does not have any space for political campaigns.

UNIPORT also stated that it does not intend to make its facility available for the Atiku Campaign Council rally.
It therefore called the public to “discountenance this deliberate falsehood aimed at tarnishing the towering reputation of the University as it is simply a figment of the imagination of the author”.

The institution also warned the originator of this falsehood to desist forthwith or face the wrath of the law as the issue has been reported to law enforcement agencies for appropriate action.
