A Nigerian national, Akomolafe Olayinka Olusola, has been arrested with cocaine and ecstasy tablets worth Rs. 70,000 in Goa, India.
Calangute police in a statement on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, said they received information from sources that one person will come to deliver the narcotic substance to his prospective customers near Palmarinha Resort at Porbhavaddo Calangute on his Yamaha Fascino scooter bearing Reg. No. GA-03-AL-8015.
The team successfully conducted a raid and found in his possession 04 grams of a narcotic substance suspected to be cocaine and 2 grams of psychotropic substance.
The 23-year-old Akomolafe was arrested in Crime No. 23/2023 u/s 21(b), 22(b) of NDPS Act 1985 and has been remanded to four days of police custody. Further investigation is in progress with pi Kishor Ramanan.
“The police Team consisting of PSI Rajaram Bagkar, HC-4936 Vidhyanand Amonkar, PC-6644 Vijay Naik, PC-6118 Amir Garad, PC-7117 Bhagwan Palyekar, PC-7119 Ganpat Tiloji, PC-7106 Akash Naik, PC-7462 Mahendra Chari and PC-6008 Manoj Naik, did an excellent job in apprehending the above-accused person and recovering narcotic substance from them worth Rs. 70,000/- approximately. And a scooter used during the commission of crime,” the police statement read.
“The successful raid was conducted under the supervision of PI Shri Dattaguru K Sawant and the Guidance of SDPO Porvorim and SP North Shri Nidhin Valsan, IPS.”
