Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has admitted that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is not entirely bad.

WITHIN NIGERIA understands that Omokri has consistently criticized the former Governor of Anambra State and his supporters, dubbed “Obidients,” on his social media pages.

However, just a few days before the 2023 presidential election, Omokri stated that Obi is not so bad, but that people should be concerned about his supporters’ behavior.

He believes the ‘Obidients’ are overly aggressive, and he is concerned about what will happen to the country if their candidate becomes Nigeria’s next president.

Omokri tweeted:

Obidients are a curse to Obi. The man himself is not so bad. But with the behaviour of Obidients, you are afraid of what will become of Nigeria if power gets to their hands. Many are just unnecessarily and scarily aggressive. May power never get to their hands.

In another post, while commenting on the attitude of the supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Omokri wrote:

The Obidient movement is more suited for war than politics. In fact, it is a misnomer to call it a movement. It is a militancy. With few exceptions, the difference between the Obidient movement and Boko Haram is ideology. Both want to use force to have their way.

The Obidient movement has benefited me more than Peter Obi. They have alienated Obi from other Nigerians and rendered him electorally inconsequential. But they have given more engagement on EVERY social media platforms and exploded my bank account. Thank you guys.
