The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission employees forced a journalist to delete photos from his mobile phone after they were spotted in a white bus outside Model Primary School on Elekahia Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday morning.

The EFCC officials were with armed men of the Nigeria Police Force on the bus.

When a journalist was seen taking photos, the enraged security guards stormed out to confront him and force him to delete the images.

As of the time of filing this report, WITHIN NIGERIA cannot ascertain their mission whether it is to check vote-buying or not.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, condemned the action of the security agents.

“They don’t have the right to do that. We are sorry about that. You’re doing your job as they are also performing their election duties,” she said.

Meanwhile, election materials are yet to arrive the Ward 9, Polling Unit 7, on Ekani Street, Off Wimpey Junction, the PU of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

As of 9:40 am, on Saturday, newsmen observed that voters, policemen, and other security officials, were already on the ground.

No officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were seen as the tent meant for the ad hoc staff is still empty, while people await their arrival.
