Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The SGF voted on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at polling Unit 022, Taraba liaison office in Yola North council area, Adamawa State.

Atiku received 90 votes, the APC received 40 votes in Mustapha’s unit, and the Labour Party received 23 votes.

The SGF had previously expressed hope for free, fair, and transparent presidential and National Assembly elections.

I’m expecting it (elections) will be fair, free, peaceful, and credible election and inclusive. That’s my expectation, Mustapha said after voting.

He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials for conducting credible and peaceful elections.

According to him, the electoral body has been able to improve the electoral system, most notably through the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine during the election process.

When asked about his trust in the electronic device, Mr Mustapha stated, “The BVAS is a Biomodal machine, and as often as possible, you can experience few hitches and it would later clear, but nothing very major.”

In a related development, Muhammad Musa Bello, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, lost his polling unit to the PDP.

Bello, who voted in the same polling unit 012, Ajiya ward as Atiky, witnessed the PDP win the presidential election.

The former Vice President received 282 votes to Bola Tinubu’s 57.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party received six votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) received one.
