Former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, has asked the presidential candidate of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, to accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

“Our candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar (aka ‘Atiku is coming’) should accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai.
At this juncture, may I say good night and good bye to all you represent.”

Fayose said the PDP did not deem it fit to give its presidential ticket to Peter Obi and instead eased him out of the party, however, the same Obi has now “retired all of them.”

He stated these in a Twitter thread on Monday while pointing out that the party had gone into last Saturday’s elections divided and expected to win.
