Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the All Action Congress (AAC), has slammed former President Olusegun Obasanjo for calling for the presidential election to be canceled.

Obasanjo slammed the recently concluded presidential election in a statement to journalists, warning the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to set the country on fire.

However, in a tweet sent from his verified Twitter account on Monday, Sowore stated that Obasanjo lacks the credibility to speak out about fraudulent elections.

The AAC President claimed that during his eight-year tenure as President of Nigeria, Obasanjo orchestrated some of the most fraudulent elections.

Sowore went on to say that the former president laid the groundwork for the shambolic elections that have become Nigeria’s lot!

He wrote:

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has no credibility to talk about fraudulent elections, Ex Pres Obasanjo organised some of the most fraudulent elections during his 8 year tenure as President of Nigeria. He laid the foundation for the shambolic elections that has become Nigeria’s lot now!

‘Mischief And Hypocrisy’ – Tinubu Campaign Fires Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent outburst has been described as mischievous and hypocritical by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Dele Alake, Special Adviser, Media, Communications and Public Affairs, APC PCC, said in a swift statement on Monday that Obasanjo’s basis for calling for the cancellation of the presidential election is frivolous, unfounded, and baseless.

According to the APC chieftain, it is tragic that Obasanjo, who should be a statesman in demeanor and speech, will recklessly seek to endanger and derail Nigeria’s democratic process for completely selfish, egoistic, and malicious reasons.
