There was Pandemonium in Enugu, the state capital this evening as fire has engulfed popular Ballroom lounge in the state, destroying property worth millions of naira in the process.
The lounge our reporter gathered that the lounge is located at Otigba junction, Enugu.
WITHIN NIGERIA source revealed that ” we were on a taxi to Ogui road when we saw the thick smoke coming out from the building. Occupants of the building were running helter skelter. Many people were also seen shouting and looking helplessly at the building.”
Another eye witness James Nwagu narrated that ” I was about to enter the building when I saw people running out of the house.”
According to Mr. Nwagu, we have a little gathering there this but when I was about to enter the building, I saw smoke coming out of the building, so I had to turn back.”
Though there was no official report from the Lounge as to what could have caused the fire incident, nor whether there was any casualty arising from the outbreak, WITHIN NIGERIA source stated that the incident is not related to any form of attack.
According to our source, ” there is every possibility that this incident might have been caused by electricity fault. That is what we suspect might be the cause of the outbreak.”
Our reporter also gathered that though the state Fire Service came to quench the fire, but it was already too late before their arrival.
