The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University has moved its resumption date to Tuesday, March 21 following a shift by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections.

Prior to the Federal Government’s directive that universities close in advance of the general elections, the school had set March 15 as the date for resumption.

The administration anticipates having students return on campus on Tuesday, March 21, according to a statement released by the school’s spokesperson, Abiodun Olarewaju, on Sunday.

It reads, “Consequent upon the postponement of the Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the University administration hereby notifies the general public, particularly students, that the resumption of academic activities earlier scheduled for 15th March, 2023, has been shifted to Tuesday, 21st March, 2023.
