Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has called a letter purportedly written by Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bode George, a forgery.

Tinubu, according to the letter, asked George not to go into self-exile or political retirement after his election as president-elect.

Tinubu was said to have assured the former National Vice Chairman of the PDP in the letter, which has been circulating on social media, that he would not be victimized for not supporting him.

I hope you find it within yourself to stay and be a part of Nigeria’s hopeful future.

However, if you feel that you do not want to live in the new Nigeria, nobody, least of all me, can force you to remain here, part of the letter in circulation reads.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode stated that the letter from Tinubu to George is a forgery and that all Nigerians should disregard it.

The APC chieftain stated that the president-elect has more important things to do than sit down and write a letter to the PDP chieftain.

He wrote:

I assure you that the President-elect of the Federal Republic of NIGERIA, our leader @officialABAT has better things to do than to write an open letter to Baba Bode George. Believe that he did so and you will believe anything. The letter is as FAKE as a nun’s condom.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that in March 2022, George vowed to leave Nigeria for Ghana if Bola Tinubu wins the 2023 presidential election.

If the former governor of Lagos State is elected president, the PDP chieftain has promised to leave the country at least five times.
