Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect, has named two people to the Presidential Transition Council (PTC).

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari reserved two slots for the President-elect in the transition council.

On Tuesday, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and PTC Chairman, announced that Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, and Chief Olawale Edun, a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, had been nominated as members of the council.

Mustapha stated that he, along with 15 other members and 13 subcommittees, would ensure a smooth transition to Tinubu.

He disclosed that Tinubu would nominate 13 members to work with the subcommittees.

Activities to be supervised by the committees include publicity and media, church and Juma’at service, protocol and invitations, logistics, inaugural lecture, ceremonial parade, medicals, venue and swearing-in, dinner night, post-inauguration luncheon and Children’s Day celebration.

“This interface process is necessary to keep Nigerians abreast of developments, build inclusiveness and lay a solid foundation for a peaceful transition of power in our country. The Presidential Transition Council, which was inaugurated on 14th February 2023, is made up of 24 members, which include two persons from the President-Elect’s team,” he said.
