Adamawa govt approves N1.29bn for roads in Madagali, Gulak

The Adamawa State Executive Council, SEC, has approved the sum of N883 million for the construction of additional township roads in the Madagali local government area at N883 million.

The SEC made the approval at its 4th meeting of the year on Tuesday, saying the projects were awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria LTD.

The Council added that the projects which have a completion target of 12 months, include the construction of Ardo Isa Road, Clinic Road and some link roads within Madagali town and the LGA headquarters, Gulak.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr Umar Garba Pella announced the details to newsmen after the council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

The Commissioner added that the Council also approved a variation of the contract for the dualization of a section of Ahmadu Bello Way, a street in the state capital, Yola, that links the famous event venue, Mahmud Ribadu Square, with the rest of the capital city.

According to him, the variation affects the cost of the Ahmadu Bello Way project by an additional N413 million, bringing the total cost to N1.23 billion.

He said a decision was taken to expand the scope of the project and make it more befitting
