The agents of the All Progressives Congress, APC, caused serious trouble at the Gusau zonal office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, after the returning officer declared the Gusau Local Government result in the rerun election.

Following the results, one of the APC agents, popularly known as Doctor, sensed that his party had lost in Gusau and began to make some remarks that irritated the security operatives.

As a result, security personnel ordered everyone in the hall, including journalists, to leave because some of them were prepared to shoot on sight.

However, the state leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, declared openly that working journalists in the state would not leave the hall even if threatened with a gun.

The results were delayed for some hours due to some friction that bred up due to the APC’s failure to capture the Senate and House of Representatives seats in the zone.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that even when counting resumed, many journalists were not allowed into the hall by the security operatives.
