Sallah day tragedy: One dies, three injured while returning from prayer ground in Kwara

A middle-aged man simply identified as Suraju lost his life while three others were seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a vehicle in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The victims were said to be returning from the Ilorin Eid prayer ground when the incident occurred at Balogun Fulani area, in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness said that three of the victims on the bike who rammed into a vehicle sustained serious injuries.

Suraju, who was said to be from the Alamo compound, Okelele, Ilorin breathed his last at a medical facility where he was rushed to for treatment.

The deceased has since been buried at the Muslim cemetery in Osere area, Ilorin.

Two of the injured persons were said to have been admitted at the State General Hospital, Surulere, Ilorin while the third victim was taken to a local bone setting centre in the Dada area for treatment.

Sympathisers thronged the residence of the deceased to commiserate with his family.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Coprs in Kwara, Frederick Ogidan, when contacted said the incident has not been reported in his office.

“I will find out and if there is anything like that, I will let you know,” he said.
