Moses Simon will try to help Nantes win two consecutive French Cups when the club faces Toulouse in the Coupe de France final tonight at 8 p.m. WAT at the Stade de France.

Last season, the 27-year-old Nigerian international led Nantes to their first French Cup in 22 years, defeating Nice 1-0 in the final at the Stade de France.

Nantes won their first major title since winning Ligue 1 in 2001, thanks to Ludovic Blas’ successful penalty kick at the start of the second half.

Moses Simon hasn’t been in great shape this season and has only played in two French Cup games, but he’ll be hoping to play in the final later tonight to help his club win back-to-back Coupe de France championships.

Les Canaris defeated Lyon 1-0 in the semifinals to reach the final for the second year in a row, while Toulouse defeated Annecy by a narrow margin to reach the final for the first time since 2001.

Interestingly, the Canaries have won all 11 Coupe de France games since losing 4-2 to Lens in the 2020-2021 season.

Lens defeated Ligue 1 table leaders PSG 2-1 in the quarterfinals, and Blas’ game-winning goal knocked Lyon out of the semifinals.

To make up for a poor season, Moses Simon and his teammates, the defending French Cup champions, will work hard to maintain their lead in the race and win the title again.

Nantes currently sits in 16th place in Ligue 1 with 32 points from 32 games, one point above the relegation zone based on goals differential.
