FA Cup final: Don’t play like Arsenal – Neville warns Man Utd

Gary Neville, a Manchester United legend, has revealed why manager Erik ten Hag has left Fred on the bench.

Nevile added that Manchester United can win the FA Cup as long as they do not approach the championship match in the same manner as Arsenal did during their Premier League match last Wednesday.

In a crucial match, Manchester City defeated Arsenal 4-1 and, should they win their two remaining games, would have four more points than the league’s current leaders.

At the beginning of June, Manchester City will compete in the Champions League semifinals, where they will play Real Madrid and United at Wembley.

While City is now aiming for the fabled treble, Neville wants his old team to ruin Pep Guardiola’s team’s celebration.

He believed that the Red Devils could cause a major upset for Pep Guardiola’s team if they deploy the right tactics and formation.

“I think United have probably got more chances than Real Madrid in a one-off game at Wembley.

The centre-backs [Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez] will be back,” Neville told The Overlap.

“Doing what Arsenal did with the three in midfield that were attacking [was the wrong move]. We need to be a bit more [defensive].”

Speaking on why Brazil international Fred has been used sparingly in recent games, the former England international said: “He’s left Fred out for the last few months because he wants Eriksen.

“I’ve got a little bit of an insight into why Fred’s not playing, Sabitzer is playing because he can hold [the ball].”

Manchester United managed a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday to keep their hopes of finishing within the top four teams alive.

Manchester City, on the other hand, beat Fulham 2-1 to leapfrog Arsenal in the title race. Arsenal will return to the top of the table with a victory over struggling Chelsea on Monday. However, Man City still have two more games to play.
