One Yakubu Shehu Sakwaa, an accountant, and two of his children have died in a road accident in Bauchi state.

They lost their lives in a lone auto crash on Azare-Sakwaa road Zaki Local Government Area of the North East State on Saturday afternoon.

Sakwaa was an accountant with the Bauchi State Treasury Board,

A source in Azare, who is familiar with the incident, disclosed that the late Sakwaa, who as of the time of his death was attached to the Office of the Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, and the two children died on the spot.

The deceased was said to be on his way to his village, Sakwaa in Zaki LGA, to attend a family programme with his children before the unfortunate accident.

The car the deceased were travelling in was said to have veered off the road when one of its tyres burst and subsequently rammed into a big tree beside the road and was almost torn into two equal halves as a result of the impact of the crash.

According to the source, the late government accountant and his children were later on Saturday buried in his village in accordance with Islamic rites after a funeral prayer held for their remains.

In attendance at the funeral prayers for the late Sakwaa and his children were the representative of the Head of Civil Service of Bauchi State, two permanent secretaries in the state civil service and three directors from his office.
