Unknown numbers of people were thought dead in a series of accidents that happened in Koton Karfe town, Kogi State, on the Lokoja-Abuja Expressway.
A tanker, two commercial buses, and one more commercial vehicle were all engulfed in flames on Sunday morning as of the time of this report.
Eye witnesses reported that the accident occurred in front of the Kogi Local Government Secretariat in Koton Karfe at around 7:00am while they were stuck on the road due to the incident.
All efforts to reach the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) proved abortive as they could not be reached immediately at the time.
The number of casualties was yet to be ascertained as the vehicles involved were still in flames with soldiers said to have blocked the road for further traffic.
