The amount that will accrue to Manchester City and Arsenal for finishing first and second respectively in the EPL has been revealed.

Manchester City will earn around £166 million from Premier League central funds and in prize cash this season, according to The Mail on Sunday.

This is a record-high payout for the winner of England’s top flight.

Pep Guardiola’s men confirmed their third consecutive title after Arsenal lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest.

When City won their fourth title in five years last May, they pocketed £153 million. But that will increase this season, as a batch of improved overseas TV contracts from 2022-23 kick in.

Arsenal, who will definitely finish in second place, will be paid £162.2 million.

The teams that finish third and fourth will earn £158.6 million and £156.8 million, respectively.

The 20 clubs in the elite division are expected to share around £2.7 billion from the league.
