Senate President: Tinubu told me to lead Akpabio’s campaign – Ndume

President Bola Tinubu’s preferred candidate has been revealed by Borno South Senator Ali Ndume as the race for the next Senate President heats up.

Ndume revealed that Tinubu’s top choice for the Senate Presidency is Senator Godswill Akpabio, the consensus choice of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmaker claimed on Channels Television’s Politics Today that Tinubu had personally informed him that Akpabio was his preferred candidate for the position.

According to Ndume: “The President told me that his preferred candidate is Akpabio and I should lead the campaign.”

He said Tinubu expressed his confidence in the capabilities of Akpabio and that he won’t change his mind on his position as his preferred candidate for the seat.
