Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, congratulated Enyimba on taking home a record-breaking ninth Nigeria Premier League championship.
The People’s Elephant were crowned 2022-23 NPL champions after a 1-1 draw with Rivers United on Sunday night at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
The Aba giants won the title again in 2019, this time in Lagos.
Throughout the competition, Peseiro was present at the venue.
The Portuguese also expressed their appreciation to all of the teams that competed.
“Congratulations to the new champions, Enyimba FC, for the ninth title win in their history.
Congratulations also to the other 5 teams that participated in the Super Six play-off,” Peseiro tweeted.
