The Kano State Government has formally requested that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia establish a medical centre in the state to improve healthcare in the region.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the request at a dinner to commemorate the completion of a ‘Cardiac Programme for Adults,’ which was sponsored by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who represented the governor at the event, emphasised that a fully equipped medical centre would benefit not only Kano State, but also neighbouring countries.

Gwarzo emphasised the close proximity of countries like the Republic of Niger and Chad, which lack the financial resources to fund such programmes on their own.

The dinner ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests from various professions, both within and outside the country.
