Some suspected cultists have killed one Mark Shagari, a 200 hundred level student of the Federal University, Wukari, in Taraba State.
The slain student, who lived off the school campus, was said to have been attacked and stabbed to death in Wukari town.
The death of the 20 year old on Thursday night has caused tension in the school premises and the surrounding communities.
The victim was until his demise, a student of the Department of Biological Science in the university.
The staff of the institution, who spoke in confidence with newsmen, said the news of the gruesome murder of the twenty-year-old students came as a rude shock.
The staff who could not give a detailed account of the incident said, “we were told that after he was stabbed to death in Wukari town, his remains were deposited close to where he resides within the town.”
The Institution’s spokesperson, Ashu Agya, said the security forces have commenced investigations into the dastard killing of the students.
According to the Institution’s spokeswoman, the school will stop at nothing to unravel the circumstances behind the assassination of the student.
