The congress, the world’s largest economic forum for chambers and businesses, will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 12 to June 23, 2023.

The 13th edition of the congress, with the theme ‘Achieving peace and prosperity through multilateralism,’ will bring together economic actors, business leaders, and policymakers from around the world to exchange experiences and examine issues affecting international trade and businesses, among other things, with the goal of shaping the next economic era in service of peace and prosperity.

Other speakers at the global forum include: Gilbert Houngbo, director-general of the International Labour Organisation (ILO); Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum; Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank; John W.H Denton, secretary general of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); and Antonio Guterres, secretary general of the United Nations.

Oye, a highly accomplished lawyer with more than 33 years of experience in litigation and business transactions, will share insights into the nation’s non-oil export sector, which has enormous potential for economic growth and diversification, at the World Chambers Congress.

The NACCIMA president, who is passionate about promoting trade and investment opportunities in Nigeria and Africa, will also provide perspectives on other diverse sectors that showcase Nigeria’s tremendous potential, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and the nation’s thriving creative sector, which has continued to gain global recognition, as well as the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), which has enormous potential to foster trade, spur economic growth, and promote regional integration.

Okonjo-Iweala, an economist and international development expert, will share invaluable insights on international trade, providing a comprehensive and deep perspective on the global business landscape’s complexities and opportunities.

She will also discuss the role of multilateralism in shaping the global economy and the WTO’s efforts to resolve trade disputes, advance negotiations, and promote economic collaboration among member countries.
