More than 20 people have been detained by the Rivers State Police Command in connection with drug-related crimes committed in the state.

The arrest came as a result of Nwonyi Polycarp-Emeka, the commissioner of police, ordering tactical commanders, department heads, and divisional police officers to execute raids in drug-infested hotspots within their purview using intelligence as a guide.

In collaboration with other security agencies, agents from the Choba Division stormed a trouble location and detained some individuals.

In the Obio/Akpor LGA settlements of Rumuosi and Ogbogoro, the police also detained a few people.
