A tragic turn of events transformed what was supposed to be a joyous occasion into a somber day as Toromade Adebowale, a groom, was fatally shot in Moro town, Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State.

The groom-to-be hailed from Edunabon town, Ife North, according to a reliable family source who preferred to remain anonymous. The source disclosed that Adebowale and his family had visited Ede town earlier on Friday for an engagement ceremony with his pregnant wife.

“After the mini ceremony, Debo attended the swearing-in of the newly elected leaders of the commercial motorcyclists association in Edunabon, as he was a member himself,” the source stated.

Following the swearing-in, Adebowale and others accompanied their leaders from Ile-Ife to Moro junction. It was at the Moro junction that they suddenly heard gunshots fired by unknown individuals,” the source explained.
