Ekiti CJ hospitalised as office collapses

The tragedy was averted in Ekiti State on Wednesday evening when the office of the state’s Chief Justice, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, collapsed.

Justice Adeyeye escaped death but was seriously injured and was rushed to a tertiary hospital in the state capital for treatment.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the end of the workday as the Chief Justice was preparing to close his chamber for the day.

Office workers took a lot of effort to pull the judge out of the rubble.

A 24-second video obtained by our correspondent revealed that all of the steel equipment used for the suspended ceiling and a section of the wall had completely collapsed in the office.

The cause of the incident has not yet been revealed, but sources speculate that structural flaws in the building on the State High Court grounds may have caused it.

Despite attempts to obtain information, the Registrar of the Judiciary and the Chief Justice’s spokesman failed to respond to journalist inquiries about the incident.

Gunmen kidnap father, son in Kwara

Two persons have been abducted in Isanlu-Isin town, Isin Local Government of Kwara State.

They were reported kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers around 7 pm on Thursday.

The two victims were identified as one Femi Ajayi of Baptist Grammar School, Isanlu-Isin, and his father.

The kidnappers allegedly damaged their vehicle and took away the two victims to an unknown destination.

The spokesman of the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the development.

He said;

The police commissioner, Ebun Oluwarotimi Adelesi, has dispatched teams of policemen supported by hunters and vigilante to the town for possible search and rescue of the abductees, please.

Recall that at the maiden press briefing on the assumption of duty in the state, the police commissioner declared that there would be no breathing space for criminals and cultists in the state anymore.

In another development, One Yusuf Isah has been apprehended in connection with the attack on the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, the police have said.
