Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday felicitated with former Anambra governor, Peter Obi, on occasion of his 62nd birthday.

According to Atiku: “Happy 62nd birthday to @PeterObi, a respected leader and distinguished former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Your dedication to service and growth continues to inspire.

“As you add another year today, I, on behalf of my family and team wish you many more years in good health and vitality. -AA”

Obi, who was a member of PDP, had defected to LP prior to the 2023 presidential election.

Prior to his defection, Obi was tipped to emerge as Atiku’s running mate in the last presidential election.

Earlier, Obi had said he would spend his birthday embarking on welfarism and humanitarian activities that will give poor people and less privileged hope and better life.

He noted that the troubling and parlous state of the country meant it was not the right time to have a lavish birthday celebration.

He called on his teeming supporters who wanted to celebrate him to reach out to the downtrodden and struggling people in their localities and extend a hand of humanity to them.
